Voices of the Street
Editor: Spring 2014, Spring 2015
Voices of the Street is Megaphone’s annual anthology of poetry and prose from its creative writing workshop program. The program, which I coordinated as Megaphone’s former editor, is held in social housing facilities, treatment centres, and community gathering spaces in Vancouver’s inner city. Each edition of Voices of the Street features work by writers experiencing and writing about poverty, addiction, abuse, and the intersections between colonial violence, family breakdown, and systemic inequalities.
